Rev. Michael Nelms has been our pastor and head of staff since September 1, 2001.  He previously served congregations in Union, New Jersey, Larchmont, New York, and Floyd, Virginia.  Rev. Nelms grew up in Seneca, S.C.  He has a B.S. degree in Philosophy from Toccoa Falls College, and a Master of Divinity degree as well a Master of Theology degree from Princeton Theological Seminary.  Beyond spending time with his wife and son, Rev. Nelms enjoys sports and writing.

 

Colin Sytsma (pronounced, sights-ma) has been studying piano since he was six years old, beginning his studies at Yamaha Music School, then moving on to private instruction. He has served as Music Director at Saint Peter's Episcopal Church in Mount Arlington, NJ for fourteen years and played bass guitar in the Ben Jacoby Band performing in New York City.

 Kathy Pittenger is our church secretary, treasurer, and custodian.

Our Congregation

The Yellow Frame Presbyterian Church consists of people from all denominational backgrounds and who represent a wide array of occupations: teachers, financial planners, farmers, entrepreneurs and small business owners, homemakers, retirees, lawyers, doctors, veterinarians, administrative assistants, nurses and custodians to name some of the occupations.  Church is a place to connect to something greater than our individual lives, and we each find our niche within the context of this Christian community. Presbyterians believe many things, including, and perhaps most importantly, the freedom of individual conscience.  We believe that Jesus was and is God in human flesh.
